Job Overview: As an Associate Childrenswear Technical Designer, you will play a crucial role in fit construction & development of our children's clothing line.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects, collaborate with experienced designers, and gain valuable experience in the fashion industry.
Responsibilities include:
Work with lead TECHNICAL DESIGNER to develop seasonal product tech packs.
Measure all samples coming in from factories against tech pack specs & calling out discrepancies.
Write up clear & concise comments for production tech packs
Issue grades using grade rules established by lead TECHNICAL DESIGNER.
Ability to fit on forms as well as live models & determining fit corrections.
Ability to check & comment on all PP samples for production.
Experience in illustrating pattern corrections & fit comments.
Working knowledge of cut & sew as well as woven fabrications in terms of specifications.
PLM upload carryovers seasonally, utilize PLM for comments & tech packs.
Technical support for Design questions.
Responsible for maintaining tech packs for sample making and production.
Measuring all samples coming in from factories to meet tech pack specification & calling out discrepancies.
Daily communication with production team utilizing production WIP & cross functional partners to stay on calendar.
Daily communication with overseas factories through email.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Proficiency in: Backbone PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel, Outlook
Exceptional communication skills.
2-3+ years’ experience in childrenswear tech design or RTW tech design, through previous employment.
Knowledge of apparel development process from inception-thru final production
Ability to prioritize tight deadlines and follow through.
Extremely detail oriented, well organized, strong problem-solving skills.
Team player with positive “can-do” attitude; willing to help other departments when needed.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Strong technical sketching and illustrator skills.
The position will report directly to the Lead Technical Designer.
Work will be full-time, hybrid schedule and fun!
Yearly Salary: 60,000-65,000 + bonus
