Job description

ATTENTION:  Consultants

Triumph Enterprises is currently looking for a Technical Analyst to support the Equipment/Engineering branch of TSA's Electronic Checked Baggage Screening Program. You will have the opportunity to directly support your clients at TSA Headquarters in acquiring new Explosive Detection Systems and continuously improving existing systems in the field with leading-edge technology.

Beyond your technical expertise (outlined below), you must be resourceful, detail-oriented, and 100% client focused, with a continuing passion for your profession. The rewards of joining Triumph Enterprises will include competitive compensation, exceptional benefits, matching 401K, and professional/training development allowances that exceed many companies of larger size and stature.

Background: TSA was created in the wake of 9/11 to strengthen the security of the nation's transportation systems while ensuring the freedom of movement for people and commerce. Within a year, TSA assumed responsibility for security at the nation's airports and deployed a federal workforce to screen all commercial airline passengers and baggage. In March 2003, TSA moved from the Department of Transportation to the Department of Homeland Security. TSA employs a risk-based strategy to secure U.S. transportation systems, and works closely with stakeholders in aviation, rail, transit, highway, and pipeline sectors, as well as the partners in the law enforcement and intelligence communities. The Office of Acquisition Program Management safeguards our Nation's transportation systems through the qualification and delivery of innovative security capabilities and solutions. Its vision is to deter and mitigate new and evolving risks by collaborating to quickly field innovative security capabilities.

This role allows the right candidate to be a part of the mission in which TSA has leveraged leading-edge medical computed tomography (CT) scanning technology as an effective primary screening solution for checked baggage. The candidate will be an essential part of a team focused on further enhancing the capabilities of these systems and identifying new technologies for the program to overcome emerging threats.

The key responsibilities of the Technical Analyst include but are not limited to

  • Assist clients with technical evaluations of vendor proposals and qualification data packages (QDP)
  • Collaborate with test and evaluation stakeholders to ensure holistic understanding of initiatives and related test activities including compliance of vendor systems to various requirements/features
  • Provide back-up support to Portfolio team members relating to airport projects and procurement reporting

Required:

  • Minimum of 1 year in the consulting field or other related work experience (experience as a federal contractor preferred).
  • Ability to obtain public trust or a clearance
  • Ability to understand technical projects and provide information to various non-technical and technical stakeholders
  • Ability to view and understand interdependencies among various projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Access and Project

  • Ability to develop and maintain Client and team relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral - must be able to express information and make convincing arguments to groups and individuals effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Experience with a government contractor
  • Experience utilizing Excel with macros and pivot tables for enhanced data analytics
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Exposure to larger capital equipment systems (i.e. testing, design, management)
  • Demonstrated ability to automate reporting/analyses to deliver efficiency and provide the client resources with data to help drive strategic decisions
