Mission: Quantum Research under the High-Performance Computing Modernization Program Integrated Technical Services Contract II (HITS-U II) directly supports the DoD's High-Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) mission. We deliver world-class commercial, high-end, high-performance computational capabilities to the Department of Defense's (DoD's) Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) community at the DoD Supercomputing Resource Centers (DSRCs). Currently, we are seeking a Helpdesk Technical Analyst to support the Army Research Lab (ARL) DSRC located at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
Responsibilities: The selected Helpdesk Analyst will provide a high degree of technical support and professionalism to the research communities of the ARL DSRC. This includes, but is not limited to, helping researchers establish accounts, opening and routing support tickets, and interact with researchers to successfully meet their High-Performance Computing (HPC) research requirements. Respond to complaints, requests, troubleshooting, etc.
The selected candidate should be able to communicate via phone or email with researchers to gather information about their issues associated with computer hardware and/or software. Utilize a variety of software tools to track user account requirements and access. Offer basic troubleshooting support to assist in diagnosing of issues to guide support tickets to the correct team of technicians.
Develop and maintain documentation, including operating procedures, as needed. This position also assists in the implementation of new technology both on Supercomputers, HPC Clusters and in the infrastructure, machines used to maintain the clusters. Requirements: Knowledge and experience with Linux Operating Systems (command line).
Knowledge of Support Ticketing Systems. Candidate should be customer service oriented, attentive to detail, self-motivated and work well in teams. Creativity in approach to finding solutions, and the ability to understand and act on customer needs and priorities.
Ability to learn new technologies quickly. Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance Desired/Preferred and Skills: Knowledge of HPC scheduling Software such as either SLURM, PBS, LSF, or Condor. Know at least one scripting language such as Bash, Csh, Ksh, Python, Javascript.
