Job Description
As the Manager, Business Development, you are a player-coach. As a manager, your job will include leading a team of BDRs to create qualified opportunities for the sales team, develop and coach members of the BDR team, and take on operational duties needed to ensure success of the BDR team. You will be the main point of contact and be the go-to resource for best practices of the BDR team.
What you’ll do:
- Train and coach members of the BDR Team to identify, contact, and create qualified opportunities. Be prepared to get on the phone and set some appointments yourself.
- Ensure BDR Team members improve performance and abilities over time by providing coaching and feedback in recurring weekly 1:1s
- Plan for hiring and onboarding new BDRs
- Work closely with Sales Leadership team to proactively improve opportunity management and qualification processes
- Partner with Sales Leadership to produce targeted account strategy
- Work in collaboration with Content and Product Marketing to develop effective messaging for outbound communications to your team's assigned accounts
- Track key success metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to BDR efforts to show return on investment (ROI) and overall impact on sales performance
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience managing and leading a sales team highly preferred
- 5 years total of professional experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including cold calls, email outreach, and presentations
- Hands-on experience with a diverse tech stack (Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo)
- Understanding of B2B software sales
- Disciplined approach to daily activity planning, setting goals, and achieving results
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
