- Conduct initial needs assessment, intake and orientation of new participants.
- Create short- and long-term goals for participants based on the needs assessment.
- Maintain teen participant folders and application.
- Develop and implement lesson plans for Youth Council and youth leadership activities and special initiatives.
- Collect participant's report cards to monitor their educational progress and keep track of youth academic life.
- Monitor and track participant attendance and conduct outreach to support retention.
- Assist with the recruitment of teen participants.
- Co-facilitate Parent Meetings
- Responsible for keeping the Program Director and Assistant Director informed of any changes and abnormalities that may occur.
- Submit weekly reports to the Program Director and Assistant Director on a timely basis.
- Attend all program staff meetings, trainings, and special events.
- Assist other staff when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary: $18 - $19 per hour or $32,760 or $34,580 annually.
Qualifications:- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED; or working towards an AA or BA degree preferred.
- 2 years Youth Worker experience.
- Experience facilitating workshops and providing one on one peer mediation preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work with families who face exceptional challenges.
- Excellent social skills demonstrative of empathy and support.
- Ability and patience to work with children and young people, recognizing their exuberance and juvenile behavior, particularly in group settings.
- Remain in a stationary position either working at a computer or monitoring activities.
- Move for long periods, providing instruction.
