At Gallo, our Team Leader is responsible for individual and team development, quality performance, cost parameters, and service to customers (internal and external). Responsible for a team of individuals with varying levels of experience and education. The Team Leader has experience in operations, manufacturing, distribution and supply

chain processes and leads team members through resolving problems and improving performance.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 3pm to 1:30am

 

What You Will Do:

 

 Leadership

  •  Directs team on day to day operations.
  •  Works cross functionally to ensure completion of daily work.
  •  Coaches, mentors and develops team members. Participates in team member assessments; conducts 1:1 meetings with team members.
  •  Participates in interviews for talent selection and makes candidate recommendations.
  •  Supports change within the organizational area.
  •  Participates in building daily work plans.
  •  Provides real time status of floor activities to leadership and cross functional partners as needed.
  •  Understands and manages and workforce planning; approves timecards.
  •  Supports crisis management and may act as site coordinator when situations arise.
  •  Recommends goals with and for team members to support business and personal development.
  •  Recommends and executes appropriate performance management action.
  •  Participates in cross-functional interaction.
  •  If applicable, promotes collaborative labor relations; may observe union business.
  •  Supports personnel investigations with leadership and communicates with Human Recourses.

 

 Compliance, Regulatory and Safety

  •  Understands company policy related to Environmental, Health and Safety.
  •  Responsible for understanding and executing against all environmental permit and regulatory conditions within area of responsibility.
  •  Ensures GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  •  Understands the collective bargaining agreement (if applicable) and employee handbook and maintains compliance within outlined boundaries.
  •  Teaches and coaches team members on safe work practices and company safety and food safety policies. Ensures compliance with polices.
  •  Maintains awareness of Process Safety Management/Risk Management Plan (PSM/RMP) and how to respond to issues.
  •  Identifies safety issues before they occur; proactive hazard recognition.
  •  Firm understanding of Serious Injury Fatality (SIF). Plans effective safety conversation by area based on data.
  •  Participates in employee injury incident investigations and root cause analysis, or near miss/near hit incidents that could result in injury.
  •  Owns designated safety programs where applicable.

 Technical Expertise

  •  Learns process and equipment used in area of responsibility.
  •  Participates in problem solving activities and provides recommendations for resolution.
  •  Shares and coaches team members on technical learnings for functional area.
  •  Learns and practices LEAN principles.
  •  Enforces standard work, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and quality.
  •  Understand the policies and practices associated with managing impact of change including Notice of Change (NOC) and Management of Change (MOC) and manages the impact of change.

 Budget Responsibility

  •  Executes budget plans.
  •  Understands budget requirements and fundamentals of basic budgeting, and tools to monitor trends.
  •  Provides input in budget planning, adheres to budget to include daily crewing and staffing from shift to shift, and materials usage.
  •  Performs weekly reconciliation, weekly trends analysis and counter measure development.
  •  Performs weekly material usage and responsible for production forecast budget; manages according to plan.

 General

  •  Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  •  Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

  •  Develops, coaches and mentors peers, indirect and subordinate staff.

What You Will Need:

  •  Bachelor's degree; OR  High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of production, operations or logistics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR  High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of supervisory/managerial experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR  High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of military operations experience to include leadership experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  •  Required to work shifts as scheduled.
  •  Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  •  Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

What Will Set You Apart:

  •  Bachelor's degree in Engineering.  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Management plus 2 years of manufacturing operations management, or logistics operations management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  •  Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  •  Technical production/operations or technical maintenance experience.
  •  Experience leading high performance work teams and providing motivation to achieve plan goals.
  •  Supervisory or managerial experience; demonstrates team building, leadership and mentoring skills.
  •  Experience using a production work management system.
  •  Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing practices.
  •  Consumer Package Goods experience.
  •  Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  •  Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
  •  Experience with MS Office Suite.
  •  Skilled at handling confidential or sensitive information.
  •  Experience working with all levels and functions within the Company.
  •  Demonstrated ability to adapt and overcome obstacles; stress tolerance.

Compensation:

 

 

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted:  $67,000- $100,400.
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
