The Packer Team Lead in Production is responsible for assisting the Production Manager and Supervisor with the overall management of the Packing area and Packing Department floor staff in the stagging area.
The right candidates for this position will be able to:
- Lead a team performing a variety of job functions while maintaining a productive workflow.
- Work with supervisor and other Team Leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met.
- Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed, and work meets all quality requirements.
- Work within Microsoft Office including being familiar with Excel.
- Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials, and labor to Production Supervisor.
- Work closely with Technicians and Production Supervisor to resolve production issues.
- Update production metrics and communicate progress to the team. Meet or exceed established production standards.
- Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Production Supervisor.
- Participate as an active member of the Packing Production team.
- Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Quality System.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Other Essential Duties:
- Able to read and count, pack linen based on customers’ orders.
- Place bundles in appropriate cart neatly and organized.
- Quick inspection of the linen before placing into carts to ensure QC standards are met or exceeded.
- Keep Track of quantities of bundles placed in each cart.
- Make sure carts are clean, free of debris, properly disinfected and dry.
- Meet or exceed established production standards.
- Ability to stand and reach and to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis, performing tasks that may involve repetitive motion.
- Ability to push and pull linen carts weighing up to 450 lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
- Ability to communicate verbally or in writing.
- Effectively communicate important information to co-workers and/or supervisors.
- Willingness to follow company rules and guidelines.
- Follow all safety rules and guidelines.
- Arrive and be prepared to begin work on time.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- All other duties assigned by supervisory personnel.
