ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Credit Managers in supervising Underwriting Team regarding credit memorandums, credit modifications, and SBA forms reviews
- Coach, train, mentor and evaluate underwriters regarding credit analysis, credit processes and policy, and product knowledge
- Assist Credit Managers to achieve performance metrics in relation to production and loan quality
- Review loan files and prepare detailed underwriting and risk analysis of loan requests for presentation to Credit Committee
- Conduct initial review of incoming loan packages by determining creditworthiness and compliance
- Submit and present findings to Credit Committee
- Participate in audits with respect to the company's credit and collections policies
Requirements:
Successful candidate will possess the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- It is desirable that the candidate have CRE, C&I and SBA regulatory training & experience regarding 7A and 504 SBA loans
- Minimum of 7 years of underwriting experience
- Minimum of 2 years of management or Team Lead experience
- Formal Bank Credit training preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft applications
