Sundog Theatre, founded in 2002, is a Staten Island-based not-for-profit performing arts organization with an excellent reputation for offering original and contemporary theatre, delivering 100+ arts-in-education programs in over 50 schools; touring theatrical productions for young people; and providing acting classes for children.
We are seeking a Teaching Artist in puppetry, to run programs in schools in Staten Island, NY. Teaching artists should be proficient in their own field of art and be able to teach their discipline/s to young people that range from K-12th grades. Excellent classroom management and organizational skills required.
Experience teaching K-12th grade range. Experience in NYC schools is preferred. Applicants should possess good interpersonal skills and be able to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers. Experience with District 75/special needs children and English Language Learners is desirable but not required. Being bilingual is desirable but not required.
Residencies take place during and after school hours in Staten Island, NY. Candidate must be willing/able to travel to Staten Island.
