Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum for preschool and toddler care programs
- Provide support and supervision to children during daily activities and routines
- Assist with behavior management strategies and techniques for working with children with autism or other special needs
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for children with special needs
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment
- Assist with the preparation of materials and resources for daily lessons and activities
- Monitor and document children's progress, behaviors, and achievements
- Communicate effectively with parents and families regarding their child's development and daily activities
Skills:
- Experience working in a preschool or daycare setting
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques for working with children with autism or other special needs
- Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with young children
- Organizational skills to assist with lesson planning and classroom management
Credentials
- 40-hour training via DCF
- Clean Background Check
