- Schedule: Monday-Friday Full Time, Full school year (strong possibility of extending or going internal the following year)

The Teacher's Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, personal care and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department and/or supervising designee.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow through with IEP objectives including math, reading, speech, independent skills, and managing behavioral deficits and excesses, one on one or as a general classroom aide
- Facilitate teacher directed learning activities including lesson plans, worksheets, reinforcement systems, small groups, social games, and work assistance
- Assist students when included into general education classes
- Communicate pertinent information to teachers
- Accompany students during recess and lunch periods, along with community experiences
- Strictly adhere to confidentiality requirements regarding all matters pertaining to students, parents, parent communications, and/or classroom activities. (Note: Unless instructed otherwise by supervising teacher, all parent communication is the responsibility of certified personnel)
- Assist with activities of prescribed programs including those written by related service personnel such as PT, OT and SLP
- Assist students in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene
- Provides personal care assistance with health care tasks, personal hygiene services, feeding and other related support services essential to the client’s health
- May be asked to assist in behavior management techniques at the direction of the teacher and/or other school professional (i.e. BCBA, Psychologist, etc.)
- Assist teacher with clerical duties including making stimuli, making copies, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, preparing materials, and assignment scoring
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum Requirements: Must have an Associate's Degree OR 60 hours of college credits completed OR a passing score on the ParaPro assessment

- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Participation and completion of Maxim's Competency program when applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
- Computer proficiency required
