Description
Teacher's Aide position is responsible for all aspects of the care and education for the children enrolled in their class. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to preparing to teach in the lead teacher's absence. Assist the lead teacher in preparing planned activities, diaper changes, feeding time, clean up, etc. Assist students individually or in small groups with activities. Assist children with toilet training when applicable.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age and graduate from high school or high school equivalency.
Must have a clear FBI and DCF background check and be fingerprinted before starting employment.
Prior experience working with young children, preferably within a similar setting.
Must be warm, nurturing, patient, and open to learning.
Must be capable of managing a group of children with varied dispositions positively and respectfully in various situations.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills such as content and grammar.
Should be enthusiastic, energetic, creative, and self-motivated. The position requires considerable flexibility and patience.
Must be able to work well both independently and cooperatively in a positive, team-oriented environment.
Must have a good attendance record and be punctual.
Must be able to fulfill the physical demands of the position, i.e., able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Some kneeling, crouching, and crawling will be required.
Requirements:
Ensure the safety of each child enrolled in the class, whether in the classroom, on the playground, on the buggy, or in common areas.
Change diapers every two hours or as needed.
Utilize our software application to document the children's daily activities.
Be open to change, new ideas, and constructive criticism.
Work with the lead teacher in a positive, professional manner.
Be engaged and have positive interactions with each child throughout the day.
Perform general housekeeping duties within the classroom, on the playground, and throughout the school.
Complete Department of Children and Families Staffing Courses within the first year of your employment.
Acts consistently in accordance with the mission, philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the school and the Diocese of Orlando and promotes the ministry of Catholic Education.
