Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Nexus Therapy is now hiring for a 100% remote, part-time teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing position for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year! This position pays $45 per hour and you could bill for 15 hours per week. There is some schedule flexibility to get those weekly 15 hours in. You would be working remotely with students in a great school district in Indiana.

Duties:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and educational standards
- Utilize learning technology and resources to enhance instruction and student learning
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and student engagement
- Implement early intervention strategies to support students with learning difficulties or special needs
- Provide academic advising and support to students, including monitoring their progress and providing feedback
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and best practices
- Incorporate recreational therapy and physical education activities into the curriculum to promote student well-being

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid teaching certification/license as a teacher for the Deaf / Hard of Hearing in the state of Indiana
- Experience in early childhood education or relevant teaching experience
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles and techniques
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for educating and inspiring students

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45.00 per hour
