Job Description Neshobe Elementary School is seeking enthusiastic, innovative, and collaborative teachers to fill anticipated vacancies (Grades 1, 4, and 6) beginning in the 2023-2024 school year.
Successful candidates should be properly licensed or eligible for licensure to teach their content area. Applicants must demonstrate: knowledge in current instructional research and exemplary practices, a student-centered focus, an integrated approach to curriculum and instruction, a willingness to be flexible and creative regarding instruction and assessment, exemplary oral and written communication skills, effectiveness regarding rapport with students, and communication with parents and students.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred
Ability to meet the basic competencies and qualifications of the endorsement(s) as listed in the Regulations Governing the Licensing of Educators and the Preparation of Educational Professionals
Commitment to the success of all students
Ability to use a variety of approaches to establish a safe and caring classroom community and to providing a safe and respectful learning environment for students
Knowledge of best practices regarding school-wide student management protocols (i.e., Responsive Classroom, Multi Tier Support System, PBIS, Universal Design for Learning)
Knowledge of best practices in literacy and math
Knowledge of outdoor classroom practices
Deep understanding of need for social and emotional learning
Ability to create a trauma sensitive classroom.
Ability to integrate technology into the learning environment
Ability to communicate and collaborate with parents, community members & businesses
Ability to use formative assessment to provide student feedback and to adjust lesson delivery
Ability for excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to interact respectfully and collegially with colleagues as part of collaborative teams
Maintain records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations
Required Qualifications:
Holds or is eligible to hold a Vermont Teaching License with appropriate endorsement
