Exciting Job Opportunity: Teacher Assistant

Right now, we're looking for a Teacher Assistant to become a crucial part of our team.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with our Preschool Teacher to manage classroom activities in line with Head Start Performance Standards, early childhood best practices, and our School Readiness Goals.
- Prioritize the safety, health, and active engagement of our young learners in various educational activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) regulations during mealtimes.
- Maintain accurate records of meal counts and attendance.
- Demonstrate proficiency in executing emergency evacuation procedures.
- Observe and document children's daily development.
- Utilize an assigned curriculum and child observations to craft a daily, tailored program that supports children's physical, social/emotional, cognitive, and language growth.
- Assist the Preschool Teacher in planning and conducting learning activities for children with special needs, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Plans.
- Step in to fulfill the Preschool Teacher's responsibilities when they are unavailable.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A current Preschool CDA (Childhood Development Associate) or a written plan to earn one within the first six months or an associate/bachelor’s degree in early childhood education/child development or a related field within two years from the date of hire.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s permits.
- A willingness to work with children with special needs and those with limited or no English language skills.
- Preferred bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- This role involves physical capabilities, including extended periods of walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to sit on the floor, crawl, run, and perform various activities associated with preschool care.

Pay: $16.49- $20.72 an hour
