The Tax Compliance Analystis responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all regulatory guidelines and laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review monthly sales tax documents for accuracy and handle extensions and tax payments.
- Prepare/review other tax filings such as use taxes, personal property taxes, litter tax, etc.
- Provide sales tax coding on new items.
- Acts as point person on state sales tax audits.
- Maintain tax-exempt certificates in Avalara
- Complete the escheatment process for unclaimed property, including gift cards and refund checks.
- Manage business licenses on kiosks throughout the United States to ensure they stay current and are compliant.
- File Annual Reports with each state
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or relevant field.
- A minimum of 3 years experience as a compliance associate, compliance manager, or similar position.
- Strong knowledge of industry processes and regulations.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- An analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills.
- A certified compliance professional is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
