As a TruckPro Sales Tax Accountant, youwill be responsible for maintaining sales tax records, verifying and approving sales tax returns, and adhering to sales tax-related schedules for all TruckPro locations across jurisdictions nationwide.
Sales Tax Accountant Responsibilities Include:
- Verify sales tax filings are accurate and approve for processing
- Initiate all electronic fund transfers related to sales tax payments
- Balance sales tax ledgers for each TruckPro location
- Research sales tax issues and respond to notices by authorities
- Manage sales tax accruals on TruckPro Expense items
- Manage sales tax certificates from customers and research necessary updates
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and/or assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting deliverables
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Successful Sales Tax Accountant Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, required
- Two to four years of hands-on work experience supporting sales tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience working in Vertex or a similar tax software program
- Thorough understanding of general accounting principles, with ability to apply the concepts to new situations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and deductive reasoning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
