Summary
Work closely with the Sr. Tax Accountant, in preparing and/or assisting in the preparation of federal Income Tax and state Income Tax returns. The individual will support the tax department and perform research and assist in projects, as necessary, in conjunction with the team.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for the preparation of federal and state Income Tax return work papers provided to outside CPA firms for the completion of federal and state Income Tax returns.
- Reconciles and manages fixed assets and performs reconciliations of book/tax differences.
- Participates in the preparation of quarterly tax projections for both state and federal tax returns and works with the financial reporting group to prepare quarterly and annual financial information.
- Provides accounting and tax support to various federal audits as needed.
- Responsible for the preparation of annual information reporting (e.g., Forms 1099) to stakeholders.
- Supports the preparation of the annual tax provision and quarterly tax projections.
- Performs tax research and assists in other projects related to Income Tax matters, as needed.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; minimum of 1-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel.
Familiarity with CCH Engagement and Enertia is preferred.
Experience with tax research tools/libraries such as: BNA
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
CPA or progress towards CPA license preferred.

Experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically exploration & production, is preferred, but not required.
Partnership/Subchapter K experience strongly preferred.
Thorough understanding of individual, partnership, and s-corporation Income Tax returns and related issues.
Experience with International tax is preferred.
Researches laws and regulations to support tax decisions on complex issues
