Previous service experience is preferred. Some wine knowledge is helpful!

At this time, possible work positions include:
- Guest service
- Bussing/barbacking (for outdoor deck or Lawn Bar)
- Kitchen staff (we are not a full-service restaurant; food items include cheese boards)
Possible duties include (but are not limited to):
- Serve guests seated at tables on the outdoor deck or inside the Tasting Room
- Provide water service to tables and bus guest areas
- Pour wine for servers or guests on the outdoor deck, at Lawn Bar, or inside the Tasting Room, and keep glassware clean and stocked behind the bar
- Operate our POS system using an iPad and handle cash and credit card sales
- Answer guest questions about our wines, service options, sales/promotions, Secret Garden property, Wine Club, special events, and more
- Assist with the opening and closing procedures
- (Kitchen staff only) Prepare food items for cheese boards, as well as craft and deliver cheese boards to guests, clean dishware, and assist with glassware polishing
- Working weekends and some summer holidays, including Memorial Day and Fourth of July weekends
- Potentially work scheduled, after-hour special events such as Wine Club mixers and special VIP or group tastings
Candidates will possess the ability to:
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance by the dress code
- Engage in friendly, courteous guest interactions
- Communicate effectively with a diverse mix of guests and coworkers
- Operate iPads and know basic computer functions
- Stand for the entirety of their work shift
- Climb stairs, potentially repetitively
- Lift, load, and carry 50 lbs (case of wine)
- Carry out written and oral instructions from Tasting Room management and supervisors
Typical day:
- Clock in for your shift at your scheduled time
- Check in with management to touch base on goals for the day, any special events, big reservations, menu changes, etc.
- Begin to work with the team to open up the service areas, stock wine, etc.
- Serve guests in the assigned work position throughout the day
- Work with the team to clean and close the service areas, restock wine, etc.
- Check-in with management on other tasks that may need to be accomplished
- Clock out
Compensation:
- Average hourly rate (base + tips): $19-24 or more, based on experience
