JOB TITLE: TASC Peer Support Specialist (Community)

SUPERVISED BY: TASC PSS Supervisor

Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking a qualified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) for our TASC(Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities) Program in the following counties: Alamance (main office), Caswell, Person, Chatham, and Orange.

The TASC regional offices support this position. The main office for this position will be in Alamance County, but it requires traveling to other counties identified above.

The PSS promotes consumer engagement in therapy with clinicians, engagement with psychiatric appointments, involvement and engagement with wellness services and recovery support, and engagement with primary care; completes all tracking and reporting requirements for outcomes and evaluation and documents services provided; and assists clients in a variety of ways – transportation, sharing of personal recovery stories, etc.?The PSS works directly with the Alamance, Caswell, Person, Chatham, and Orange County Care Managers to ensure continuity of care and engages in a team approach in the provision of services with TASC, probation, treatment providers, and support services.??

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:?

HS Diploma/Equivalent or higher, combined with knowledge of wellness and recovery-based concepts. Lived experiences with mental health and/or substance use disorders and at least one year of recovery.?? Must have completed or be willing to complete the Peer Support Specialist Certification Program.??
