Job Summary:
The Talent Development & Learning (TD&L) Director reports to the Executive Director, Head of Talent Center of Excellence (CoE), and partners to design, develop, embed, and promote learning experiences that support capability building and organizational growth. As the owner of the Learning Management System/Learning Experience Platform (LMS/LXP), the TD&L Director will continually create opportunities to leverage the platform to encourage WCS employees to engage in learning. This role will partner to develop curricula for individual contributors and people leaders focused on building skills to gain competence and mastery, expanding understanding to advance the organization, and broadening awareness to foster a culture of belonging. The Talent Development & Learning Director is an important member of the team who will help define learning standards and foster a learning culture that enables the WCS community to thrive.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop individual contributor, leadership and functional curricula for all levels with a strong learner-centric focus comprised of but not limited to blended content, micro-learning, eLearning, ILTs, and action learning experiences
  • Develop and test progressive and new approaches and strategies to encourage lasting behavior change (which can include but is not limited to learning communities, social/peer/digital interactions, learning partnerships, etc.)
  • Partner closely with Talent Management to integrate development with existing and new talent practices
  • Engage as a developmentally-oriented people leader for your team and others
  • Partner with team to facilitate workshops and programs on a variety of topics, in support of advancing the organization
  • Leverage industry knowledge and expertise in establishing best practices, creating learning journeys, and designing reinforcement and application tools to increase learning impact
  • Design and operate with DEI at the forefront, working to build an organization which fosters an inclusive, equitable culture of belonging grounded in empathy and respect, which values openness to opinions, awareness of lived experiences, and fair treatment for all
  • Establish metrics to evaluate the impact of learning programs and use data-based insights to design and refine learning solutions that meet the learner where they are at
  • Conduct vendor assessments to identify appropriate vendors to support learning needs, where appropriate
  • Design and execute strategies that drive learner engagement and the utilization of our learning platform
