Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Administration or related area.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook, and the familiarity with Internet recruiting.
Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems, Human Capital Management Systems, or similar database required; knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations desired.
Experience in working with contingency and retained search firms desired.
One year of closely related work experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement: Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Access and Word is required.
Familiarity with social network and internet recruiting best practices required; recruiting experience in transportation, utility, non-profit or service industry a plus.
Strong communication, presentation, organizational and time management skills, demonstrated customer interfacing skills, and proven track record of client satisfaction required.
Duties/Responsibilities: Identifies, contacts, and cultivates ongoing relationships with potential job candidates through a variety of professional channels, including social media networks, professional networking sites, technical and specialized community messaging boards, and professional networking groups.
Screens and interviews prospective candidates on the phone or in person, and participates in panel interviews with hiring managers as appropriate. Works closely with Talent Acquisition Recruiters, Hiring Managers, Candidate Experience, and other NJ TRANSIT departments to ensure quality applicant experience.
Maintains clear and accurate records tracking job applicants from first contact through application, interview, and onboarding. Builds relationships with NJ TRANSIT employees, seeking referrals and building contact with external networks.
Measures efficacy of sourcing efforts by tracking number of sourced candidates who become job applicants, interview, receive offers, and are onboarded. Tracks and collects other applicable data and generates recruiting reports as needed.
Under the direction of Director of Talent AcquisitionSourcing and Diversity Hiring, builds relationships with community organizations and local colleges and universities to build candidate pipelines. Such pipelines might focus on high-demand jobs in fields including mechanical, operations, transportation, and equipment management, or highly technical positions in fields like engineering, procurement, IT, and beyond.
Under the direction of Director of Talent AcquisitionSourcing and Diversity Hiring, identifies, designs, and executes innovative solutions to industrywide hiring challenges, including the development of hiring incentives, pioneering training and talent development programs tied to hiring, and partnering with internal departments and external agencies to introduce new applicants to NJ TRANSIT.
