Description
This is a entry level technical/mechanical position working with pumps, motors, electrical controls, valves, lift stations and mechanical equipment found in a wastewater/water treatment facility.
Examples of Duties
1. Performs corrective, preventative, and rehabilitative maintenance on pumps, motors, lift stations and electrical equipment.
2. Maintains accurate record keeping of maintenance performed.
3. Inspects, diagnoses trouble, and effects repairs on all mechanical and electrical equipment. Completes vehicle maintenance and cleaning.
4. Welds and fabricates metal parts and structures of aluminum, stainless, and steel a plus.
5. Operates Heavy Equipment's (i.e., boom truck, bucket truck, vacuum truck, backhoe, skid loader, front end loader, mini- excavator, etc.) a plus.
6. After the adequate training, must be able to pull regular scheduled standby requirements and scheduled alternate shift work.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. 2 years electrical experience or training preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses/Certificates
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to obtain a Class "C" Certification in Wastewater Collection in accordance with department scheduling. Must obtain a valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License within six months from date of hire or promotion. Must have CDL permit before first day of employment.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Under direction where a definite objective is set up and the employee plans and arranges own work, referring only unusual cases to supervisor.

Considerable responsibility with regard to general assignments in planning time, method, manner, and/or sequence of performance of own work; may also occasionally assist in the planning of work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.

Performs work operations which permit frequent opportunity for decision-making of minor importance and also frequent opportunity for decision-making of major importance, either of which would affect the work operations of medium organizational component and the organization's clientele.

USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS
Regular use of highly complex machines and equipment; specialized or advanced software programs.
ACCURACY
Probable errors would not likely be detected until they reached another department, office or patron, and would then require considerable time and effort to correct the situation. Frequently, possibility of error that would affect the organization's prestige and relationship with the public to a limited extent, but where succeeding operations or supervision would normally preclude the possibility of a serious situation arising as a result of the error or decision.
PUBLIC CONTACT
Occasional routine contacts with persons outside the organization. This would include contacts with suppliers, mail service, etc.
EMPLOYEE CONTACT
Contacts with other departments or offices and also frequently with individuals in middle level positions; consulting on problems which necessitate judgment and tact in presentation to obtain cooperation or approval of action to be taken. Also, important contacts with associates as required in advanced supervisory jobs.

Intermediate: 10-Key, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Contact Management, Database, Enterprise Resource Planning, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
Basic: Human Resources Systems, Payroll Systems, Presentation/PowerPoint, Programming Languages
