We're Looking for a Systems Engineer / Systems Administrator!
As a Systems Engineer / Systems Administrator at Systems X, you'll play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our network and server infrastructures. You'll be immersed in a variety of technologies, including VMWare, Cisco iOS, and Active Directory management. Your responsibilities will not only include network and server management but also ensure robust security practices and excellent documentation skills. Familiarity with Check Point firewalls will be considered a significant plus.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Analyze problems from a systems perspective, identify hardware or software issues, and carry them through to resolution.
- Provide IT support for technical issues involving core Microsoft business applications / Azure / Office 365, and virtual environments built on VMware.
- Support services for Microsoft-related technologies including Windows Server, Azure, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, and more.
- Implement and support disaster recovery solutions.
- Offer technical services and support at the network level, including WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security.
- Implement and support remote access solutions: VPN, Remote Desktop / Terminal Services.
- Document systems comprehensively to include system reviews and recommendations.
- Travel to customer sites as necessary.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and communicate effectively with customers and the Service Team.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Monitor and test application performance, and identify possible solutions to implement improvements.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject, or a combination of 5+ years of experience and recent equivalent training.
- Extensive knowledge of PC operations and functions.
- Experience with monitoring systems and automation software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Terminal Services (RDS) or Azure Virtual Desktop, small business networks, Microsoft SQL, and Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022).
- Preferred Qualifications: MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, Azure Certificates, Meraki Network Stack, Cisco CCNA, Citrix CCA, VMWare VCP, Network+ Certification, A+ Certification.

Physical Activity & Work Conditions
- Medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
- Close visual acuity is required for extensive computer monitor screen use.
- The work environment is primarily office-based with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
