Job Summary:
As a Systems Engineer at Mercury Systems, you will be supporting the design, integration, verification and deployment of Mercury's industry leading secure embedded and enterprise hardware and software solutions. Work directly with Mercury's customers in a technical role to shape requirements to meet customer needs. Support solution development in tasks such as requirements decomposition, allocation and management, and verification and validation of systems components. Perform total systems analyses to evaluate alternatives, assess costs and risks, and supportability while collaborating with cross functional engineering teams. Ensures that systems are built, coded, tested and implemented according to systems specifications.
You will be a part ofa dynamic, geographically dispersed, experienced, and highly skilled, full-service, rapid development engineering team. We all work together to deliver our BuiltSECURE product line which includes our Rugged Edge Servers and our OpenVPX subsystems to our Aerospace and Defense customers. We are an agile team focused on delivering innovative, high-quality products to our customers on time and on budget.
Duties Responsibilities:
- Manage requirements to include allocating customer requirementsto architectural components, decompose requirements to lower-level specifications, establish traceability across specifications, and define configuration baselines.
- Generate system performance analysis and identifying potential implementation risks.
- Define and manage risks and opportunities.
- Develop verification plans, procedures, artifacts with traceability to program requirements
- Supporting program engineering reviews in the preparation and delivery of technical presentations
- Support Business Development in the creation of technical volumes
- Providing inputs for program planning to include an accurate assessment of the scope of work for projects and accurate assessments of progress
- Understand and address cost, schedule and performance impacts and provide trade-offs for programs decisions
Required Qualifications:
- BS or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Systems Engineer
- Aerospace Defense, Semiconductor, Medical Device, Communications, or related manufacturing industry experience
- Experience executing Systems Engineering principles and supporting traceability of requirements from architecture definition through validation
- Familiarity with server systems architecture and understanding how to optimize performance, SWaP-C (size, weight, power, cooling). Knowledge of Intel processor family characteristics as well as networking (Ethernet and InfiniBand networks.)
- Travel to customer and Mercury sites of up to 15% will be required
- This position requires you to have an Active Secret Security Clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct engineering experience with embedded systems and/or rack mount servers
- Experience with optimizing SWaP-C (size, weight, power, cooling) and Intel processor family
- Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities
- Experience with programming in MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or other programming language
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools
- Experience with System Security Engineering principles
- Experience developing inputs (Feature, Epics, Stories) for Agile development execution
- Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
