ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate with customer service departments to evaluate in field failures, data recording and warranty return
- Lead warranty analysis review meetings with the customer to get customer approval and agreement on the analysis and categorization of the failure.
- Document the failures in warranty tracking file as well as PTC (internal 8D) and customer systems and submit for approvals.
- In depth system engineering analysis to determine the root cause.
- Support cross functional internal meetings and supplier meeting to determine containment and root cause.
- Tear down and root cause analysis documentation of product failures in prototype, validation and field
- Develop presentations for the customer, internal management, and Headquarters
- Track warranty KPIs
- Interface with the customer plant for plant returns
- Develop product tear down and analysis work instructions
- Develop battery diagnosis and service procedures to be performed in the field
- Development of test methods to verify system performance to documented requirements
- Support in battery and vehicle level Flash, test and debug activities
- Data analysis of test and vehicle data to evaluate battery performance metrics or determine root cause of malfunctioning vehicle/battery
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering
- 5 + years experience in the automotive industry in areas of software or systems engineering.
- Disciplined root cause analysis procedures: 8D, 5Y, DFMEA, PFMEA, Ishikawa
- 2 years hands on service experience in High voltage batteries and test systems
- Independent, systematic and process-oriented work, high operational readiness and sense of responsibility
- Experience with DOORs, CANalyzer and Canape
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with automotive battery systems or hybrid vehicles
- Experience in Diagnostic development and OBD cert Documentation
