System Administrator (RLSA002)

Primary Responsibilities
- System Administration: Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows-based operating systems, servers, and related infrastructure in compliance with industry best practices and security standards.
- System Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor system performance, identify and resolve issues, and ensure the timely resolution of system failures or errors to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data and systems from unauthorized access, including user account management, access controls, system patching, and vulnerability assessments.
- User Support: Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, troubleshoot system-related problems, and address user inquiries promptly and professionally.
- System Upgrades and Migrations: Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations in coordination with other IT teams, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and adherence to change management processes.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate system documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Generate reports on system performance, utilization, and security metrics as required.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including network administrators, security analysts, and software developers, to support integrated system solutions and resolve complex issues.
- Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards, such as ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) guidelines.
Requirements & Desired Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Current IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security + CE) to satisfy DoDD 8140 (DoD 8570.01) requirements
- Active Security Clearance is required.
- Experience with system administration within an open storage area.
- Experience with DISA STIG requirements on Windows and Linux.
- Strong experience in administering Windows-based systems, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting
- Proficiency in system monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- In-depth knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in a Windows environment, including familiarity with NIST 800-171, CMMC, and NISPOM requirements
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- Experience in the defense or aerospace industry is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Linux OS and configuration is desired
This is full-time salaried position with full benefits offered. Approximately 10% of travel is expected.
