PositionSummary:
The Systems Administrator role is to support and maintain our application servers, backup and security systems, Microsoft server solutions, server and computing environment, storage area networks and virtualization platforms.
This includes designing, installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all software and hardware equipment while ensuring optimal system performance. This position will work with minimal supervision and will require the Systems Administrator to be highly motivated and a self-starter.
Performs other duties as assigned.

- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot our administrative, clinical, departmental, and hospital applications servers.
- Provide design, documentation, monitoring, and support for backup, storage, antivirus and patch management systems to ensure data protection and business continuity.
- Architect, install, configure, support and integrate our multi-forest multi-domain Active Directory environment by configuring forest trusts, optimizing sites and services, administering AD containers and objects, developing group policies and managing cross forest NTFS permissions.
- Aid in the design, development, implementation and optimization of our Exchange server systems. Troubleshoot incidents, determine root causes, and find/implement solutions. Lead software upgrades, migrations, security patching, and planned maintenance of our enterprise messaging environment.
- Provide Technical support for our MS SQL Server database environment. Administer and maintain SQL Server database and related application support.
- Administer and provide Infrastructure server services associated with project design, engineering, expansion and technical support of existing and future physical and virtual systems necessary to deliver the required services to support business applications and requirements.
- Implement, analyze and support our virtualization and storage technologies to provide application, desktop and server virtualization.

Functional Accountabilities:
- Receive and respond to incoming calls, e-mails, and work orders regarding computer, network and hardware problems while documenting and maintaining work order notes and system documentation.
- Monitor and test system performance and provide system performance statistics and reports.
- Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems.
- Conduct research on system products in support of technology procurement and development efforts.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware products for purchase.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform system, hardware and peripheral equipment installations, improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
- Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future system hardware and software needs.
- Support development and implementation of new system projects and new hardware installations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware and software technologies while acquiring appropriate certification levels.
- Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables, and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Provide guidance to junior members of the team as required.
