The Sr. System Administrator is responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting our company’s computer system and network. The Sr. System Administrator is responsible for overseeing and managing system patches, system upgrades, and planning new equipment purchases. The position also includes troubleshooting various performance issues in both server and network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain entire server and network infrastructure
- Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
- Provide strategic technology direction while supporting the needs of the business
- Respond to and resolve server, network, or other hardware down or slowness issues
- Responds to increasing complex technical issues
- Work directly with other engineers, analysts, teams, and directors to develop, improve, and maintain the operating environment
- Serve as escalation path for system administrator and helpdesk staff
- Customer oriented: meets individual commitments, works with the team to achieve team commitments, responds to request in a timely manner, willing to help
- Occasional lifting up to 25+ pounds
- Must be willing to help with various tasks around the office and store (i.e. computer and conference room troubleshooting, printers, etc.)
Experience
- 2+ years of mentor/leadership experience
- 8+ years of Systems Administration
- 8+ years with scripting and orchestration (SCCM, PowerShell, VBS).
- 2+ years of AWS experience
- Bachelor’s degree Required
- Strong understanding of IP networking and routing, LAN/WAN, switches, VPNs, and firewall management
- Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP
- Experience building and managing Cisco Meraki networks
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, AD, Certificates, DFS, Office 365 Administration
- Windows Server 2012/2016 deployment and support
- VMWare management
- Experience configuring Windows NTFS and Share Permissions
- Experience monitoring system alerts and resolving software and hardware issues
- Microsoft SQL Server experience a plus
