Systems Admin Position- Linux Systems Administrator

MEDENT is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to join our team. The MEDENT Systems Administration team is responsible for operating, managing, securing, and maintaining mission critical systems that are vital to Medical Practices’ and Providers’ daily operations. The preferred candidate is a self-starter and well-rounded professional with strong knowledge in systems, system administration, systems engineering, storage, security, and networking. The candidate should be passionate about technology and eager to work with team members in a fast-paced environment developing solutions supporting business objectives.
Desired Skills/Abilities:
- Working knowledge of the Linux platform and command line, including regular system administration, kernel optimization, OS hardening.
- Scripting - Bash
- Firewall configuration - nftables, PFSense
- Patch Management - Monitor and mitigate (through rolling patching) Linux security issues and vulnerabilities.
Additional specific skills (not required but considered a plus)
- Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) and QEMU environment (Proxmox)
- Ansible - Linux operating system mgmt automation.
- Storage Management - Alletra (HP) , Raid configurations
- Networking Skills - Understanding of BGP, TCP/IP, and Routing. This includes switch and router configurations.
- Understanding / deployment of containers.
- Experience deploying and managing infrastructure and application monitoring tools such as Zabbix , and using those tools to make data driven operational decisions.
