SAIC is seeking a mid-level System Administrator to work at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center with the government customer in Newport, RI. The ideal candidate holds significant experience in the following job description, as well as certifications related to system administration of common operating systems and network infrastructure. 

Job Duties:

• Performs high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers
• Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
• Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
• Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance and security levels
• Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities
• Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations
• Plans and implements the modernization of servers. 
• Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules.
• Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
•  Incumbent develops and implements new standards, policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's and two (2) years experience; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
• Windows OS, Windows Server, or Linux  system administration experience
• Minimum of DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certified (CompTIA Security+or higher)
• Must possess and maintain a government clearance that is a minimum of SECRET level

Desired:

• Certifications related to system administration of modern operating systems to include Windows, Windows Server, or Linux
• Certifications related to network administration
• Current or former Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) certified
