Purpose of Position
This position will play a vital role in overseeing, managing, maintaining, and improving our backend infrastructure as well as client systems, ensuring stability, security, and maximum productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Serves as primary technical resource for areas involving network infrastructure and technologies.
- Systems Administration: Manage and maintain Windows and Linux infrastructure (virtual environment), including virtual servers, switches, APs, and other infrastructure components. Perform, audit, and improve regular system monitoring, maintenance, and updates to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. Maintain and continually audit backup/DR environment, seeking continual improvement.
- Incident Management: Coordinate and oversee the resolution of critical incidents. Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to minimize future incidents.
- License Management: Working with the Director of IT, audit and manage a wide variety of engineering tools and applications and their continual license renewal cycle.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain accurate documentation, including system and network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Share knowledge and collaborate with team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Project Support: Assist in the planning, implementation, and management of IT projects, such as system migrations, upgrades, and deployments. Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
- CSI: Recommend and champion new communication, storage, security, and automation processes, using technology to align with business goals and improve stability, security, and efficiency
- Serves as a technical resource for other departments and client base in the development and support of applications within the infrastructure.
- Leads in the planning, testing, and implementing new technologies that reside within corporate network; both corporate, remote office locations and cloud resources.
- Serves as primary resource for documenting existing and future server and network infrastructure components.
- Collaborates with other Engineers, System Architect, and DBAs to troubleshoot issues and new infrastructure designs.
- Leads in the planning and execution of maintenance schedules for network server and infrastructure components
- Works with Information Security to ensure systems, processes, and implementations adhere to corporate security standards.
- Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the network and its components.
- Documents network issues and their resolutions for future reference.
- Consults with users in the evaluation of requirements, recommends designs, provides cost analysis, and coordinates tasks for project roll-outs.
- Acts as a positive role model in all aspects of professional performance.
- Observes safety procedures and personnel policies.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies, network security, WIFI, Windows Server, M365 administration, hands-on experience with server and storage hardware, virtualization technologies, Veeam backup, a wide variety of business applications, familiarity with scripting, database, PowerShell, and automation tools.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues efficiently, with excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
