Sierra has been engaged by a boutique MSP that services small/mid-sized companies in the Chicago area. You would join a dynamic team of IT five other SA's, playing a critical role in maintaining and optimizing client IT infrastructure. With a strong emphasis on remote support, you will utilize your technical expertise to address and resolve a wide range of IT issues efficiently and effectively. While most of your work will be done remotely, you will be onsite 1 day per week in their Lombard office, with occasional client site location visits within 30 minutes of your home base.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive technical support to a portfolio of retained clients, ensuring timely section of IT issues, and minimizing downtime.
- Proactively monitor and maintain IT systems, including server, networks, and other infrastructure components, to optimize performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and networking, utilizing a systematic approach and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business requirements and recommend tailored IT solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as systems updates, patches, and backups, to ensure the security and stability of clients' IT environments.
- Document all support activities, solutions, and configurations accurately and comprehensively, maintaining detailed records for future reference.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Systems Administrator or similar role, preferably in an MSP environment.
- Strong proficiency in managing Windows and/or Linux server environments, including AD, Exchange, and virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, such as TCIP/IP, DNC, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Asure) and cloud-based services (e.g., Office 365, G Suite).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-centric mindset and the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
