Position Overview
This position serves in a Senior Leadership capacity for Retail Banking reporting to EVP of Retail Banking. The incumbent will work closely with EVP of Retail Banking to ensure bank wide sales and operational goals are met. Responsible for the overall performance of assigned Regions, including the Retail Support Center and their teams, supporting sales efforts for branches in all assigned geographies.
Supports the vision and change management for Retail, particularly as the industry enters into a period of anticipated change. Leverages internal business partners including Retail Training, Marketing, Human Resources, Project Management, and others to ensure Retail business objectives are realized.
Essential Job Functions
- Develops and implements plans for achieving bank wide Retail sales and service goals in accordance with bank's strategic plans. Works directly with Regional and Branch Managers to execute consistent sales processes across all branches.
- Champions corporate sales and services culture consistently by conducting management meetings, manager coaching sessions, observations, and by holding managers and staff accountable for sales process behaviors.
- Supports the EVP of Retail in the launch and promotion of new products and services across all branches and represents Retail Banking in obtaining necessary resources to support corporate goals.
- Collaborates with Head of Marketing and EVP Retail Banking to develop comprehensive marketing/business plan for the Retail area.
- Utilizes approval authorities for Retail exception decisions and other escalated matters.
- Works closely with other line of business partners to find opportunities within our customer base to cross sell our products and services.
- Serves as established subject matter expert for products, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains involvement in at least two community activities including one leadership role. Represents the Bank at local community functions.
- Reviews business unit profitability including expense controls.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and ten or more years of Consumer and Commercial Banking experience with a strong understanding of the suburban and Chicago metro market, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven sales success, proven history of leadership, and Senior Level Management in a bank setting.
- Must be able to travel out of state and overnight as needed.

- Quantifiable experience managing/leading/creating an effective multi-site sales environment is essential.
- Outstanding coaching and training skills within a sales environment. Must be able to engage and energize front-line Retail Sales staff.
- Excellent sales process management and operational management with a strong understanding of compliance and risk.
- Ability to translate business needs into creative marketing and sales strategies and solutions.
- Must be a team player, collaborative and an organizational consensus-builder.
- Must project polished, professional image. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to both individuals and groups. Effective presentation skills.
