We are currently seeking an SVP, Patient Access and Pre-Access Services to set the strategic direction for all Ensemble clients for the front-end scope.
Reporting to the Chief Client Officer (CCO), this position is responsible for providing leadership for all activities related to the management of Patient Access and Pre-Access functions. The SVP, Patient Access and Pre-Access Services is responsible for providing direction and leadership to achieve ongoing operational quality, productivity, patient experience, regulatory compliance guidelines, and promote operational efficiency in the Patient Access and Pre-Access areas. The SVP is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the performance of the functional areas that report to this position including the development and maintenance of Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Verification, Authorization, and on-site Registration oversight.
The Senior Vice President, Patient Access and Pre-Access Services, helps manage, oversee, and direct department planning and deployment of key front-end initiatives around client SLAs and KPIs – both financial performance and human capital development to ensure not just the financial health of our clients and Ensemble are best-in-class but also our associate culture thrives. The leader drive key technology initiatives to improve and lead a modern patient experience which includes working with technology teams to ensure we implement scalable use cases that improve client results and overall labor efficiencies. Standardizing an enterprise approach across all of our clients in crucial to the success of this role. Reducing first pass and fatal denials by removing friction in the revenue cycle is a key objective.
This role is critical in improving how Ensemble drives value to our provider partners by ensuring the front-end associates that work within the walls of our hospital partners excel in performance while acting as strong brand ambassadors. The leader focuses on building and maintaining documented process improvement plans, client and enterprise-wide trends, and must stay up to date on national and regional revenue cycle developments to better understand wholistically where the front end of the industry is moving and how Ensemble stays on the leading edge for our partners. The leader is responsible for continuous improvement projects to support both clients and the Central Business Office. Focusing on identifying defects and/or areas for operational improvement with an emphasis on streamlining efficiency and enhancing quality across registration and Pre-access.
Success Measurements
The success of the role is measured by showing client revenue improvement, technical and informational denial reductions, and overall improvement to the front-end cost to collect.
  • Reduce first pass denials by improving clean claim submissions across the enterprise by properly scheduling and registering patients correctly. Reduce fatal denials by partnering with the Denials team on process improvement strategies identified sourced on the front end of the revenue cycle. Success in this role should be seen as accelerating AR and improving revenue lift for Ensemble clients.
  • Manage Front End Cost to Collect metrics by managing and deploying resources properly, consistently, and maximizing resource deployment. A strong and steady decrease in the Cost-to-Collect is defines success in this role without sacrificing client SLA and KPI performance.
  • Review and enhance Ensemble’s associate engagement survey results across owned cost centers to ensure our associates are engaged, invested in, and meeting client expectations. Success is defined as improvement in Pulse and Speak Up Surveys at or better than company average scores.
  • Lead innovation teams to modernize the patient experience to ensure technology is consistently deployed that drives value for both Ensemble and clients.

Essential Job Functions
  • Manages all full-outsourced client front end services including KPIs as defined by the client and statement of work.
  • Manages all Pre-Access Services including, but limited to NOA, authorizations, and Point of Service Collection estimate generation.
  • Manages and effectively deploys all Front-end technology and vendor services.
  • Oversees budgeting, quality improvement and staffing.
