Responsibilities

This position is based in either Seattle, WA or Denver, CO

 

The Corporate Banking Relationship Management team is responsible for acquiring, orchestrating, and growing entire client and ecosystem relationships; deepening relationships within the C-Suite; consulting on, and cross-selling, the entire SVB platform (i.e. Treasury management, credit card, FX, Debt financing, private bank and wealth management, etc.) to address client business needs; orchestrating cross-functional SVB teams to optimize the client experience; and building real relationships to differentiate SVB with all key influencers in the tech ecosystem.

 

Core responsibilities for the Vice President role will be working with leaders in market to cover the portfolio in the Pacific Northwest, Utah, Colorado, and Midwest markets.

  • Supporting the positioning, advising, originating, selling and negotiation of financing solution for Corporate Banking clients.
  • Partnering with SVB Credit Solutions team to work through concept packages, underwriting and portfolio management of credit facilities and strategic conversation with SVB Credit partners including at times jumping in to help with modelling, memo write up and diligence calls with clients.
  • Build deep relationships with existing clients at all levels of the finance and treasury team to ensure we have multiple contact points and are supporting the client in all their needs. Ensure we are proactive on cross sell opportunities.
  • Responsible for new business development, expansion of existing relationships, and advancement of the SVB brand in market, including identifying and hosting unique events both for personal engagement, as well as professional development in order to connect with clients, prospects, and relevant referral sources. These are done in partnership with in market leadership.
  • Maintain a pulse on the technology ecosystem, trends, and identify how they would impact clients and prospects.

Fundamental knowledge base of all non-credit related banking products, including FX, trade finance, liquidity, asset management, private banking, and cash management services. Expertise in proactively identifying banking solutions and products and developing and closing cross sell opportunities within assigned portfolio as well as managing internal stakeholders throughout delivery of platform to clients. Managing successful brand delivery to the client and act as a owner to follow through on client needs and building of relationships.

 

Essentional Functions

  • Cross Sell and identify expansion opportunities on existing client relationships. Included in this is identifying and pulling in appropriate product partners and ensuring follow up and follow through of various opportunities, maintaining regular contact with clients and helping run point on certain client cross sell opportunities.
  • Working closely with market leaders and Credit Solutions team on managing existing debt client relationships, helping identify and solve debt structure, supporting through diligence and underwriting processes and other new opportunities for existing clients.
  • Provides support to MD and Director on building strategic relationships, building relationships at various levels within the company, and supporting new business development.
  • Maintain a pulse on the technology ecosystem, trends, and identify how they would impact clients and prospects.
  • Supporting MD and Director on preparing for client/sales calls, pulling public company information, reviewing and identifying questions/follow up items and other research to prepare for sales calls, helping prepare pitch decks, and identifying any open items needing to be addressed with the client.

Skills

  • Strong Relationship Management and ability to engage with clients. 
  • Strong focus and ownership of the overall client experience.
    Ability to work with remote resources and take ownership of tasks to drive to results based outcomes.
    Strong interest in the Innovation economy and Venture Capital/Private Equity space.
  • Ability to promote strong risk culture and sustainable risk/return thinking. 

For Denver, the base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $117,667.00 – $176,501.00 per year. For Seattle, the base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $138,430.00 – $207,648.00 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ year of equivalent related experience in financial services; bank; or other related business OR High School diploma or GED with 9+ years of equivalent related experience in financial services; bank; or other related business

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of bank operations and products.
  • Strong negotiation and marketing skills.
  • Good closing skills.
  • Expertise in risk assessment and managing deteriorating accounts pro-actively.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience
