Summary of Position:

 

As a Specialist, you will Tdevelop, implement, manage and lead the Education and Communication Program, helping to develop a strong sustainability culture, promote behavior change and community-building across Knauf Insulation North America. This role will develop and promote internal and external communication reports and communication materials on enterprise sustainability efforts, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement and manage the education program strategy to educate employees on sustainability with emphasis on company's priorities (i.e Climate Change, Circular Economy, Water, etc.), which entails identifying education GAPs, assessing company's global existing modules, external options, available systems and tools and establishing an efficient training schedule considering company's mandatory education modules such as compliance and safety;
  • As part of the Education program, this role is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the sustainability communication strategy in partnership with sustainability and marketing/communications teams, i.e. internal annual reports, newsletters, sustainability campaigns for special celebration days (i.e Earth Day, Recycling Day, etc);
  • Develop strategy to deploy Climate Fresk to Business Units, report achievements to Global;
  • Develop onboarding sustainability content;
  • Develop and manage Sustainability Education tracker (dashboard);
  • Develop sustainability guidebook in partnership with marketing and legal (do's and don'ts) to ensure public facing communication materials has consistent and uniform messaging;
  • Develop strategy to deploy education informational training sessions to educate and foster sustainable behavior change to primary workforce in partnership with HR and plants;
  • Develop communication materials to educate and engage our suppliers on Knauf's sustainability goals to address expectations, drive potential partnerships and accountability;
  • In partnership with sustainability peers, create a "sustainability library" with content that could be used companywide for communication materials;
  • Assess widely-used ESG frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, EFRAG, ISSB, SASB, TCFD, UNGC) and rating organizations (e.g., S&P, MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP,) and certifications such as B-Corp and make a recommendation;
  • Develop disclosure narratives to educate our clients on Knauf's sustainability goals to address their expectations & requirements, and drive potential partnerships;
  • Lead the creation and manage responses of ESG information to key stakeholders - customers, internal business units, external surveys, and potentially rating and ranking institutions.
  • Consolidate information and prepare presentations for MC and other committees when requested
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in sustainability, environmental science, marketing, communication, education;
  • Additional related experience may substitute for specific sustainability degree

Experience:

  • 5 years' experience, preferably in sustainability, ESG reporting, marketing, communication or education roles
  • Experience managing projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge or familiarity with corporate reporting including key voluntary ESG frameworks like GRI, EFRAG, TCFD and the ability to proactively provide guidance on evolving trends
  • Expertise in PowerPoint and Word

 (Preferred Skills)

  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Experience producing corporate ESG reports and disclosures
