Survey Field Technician

Bolton & Menk is looking to add a Survey Field Technicianto our team. We are looking to add a Survey Field Technician who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in a Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Community!

This position will have a focus of construction staking, but will also have the opportunity to work on other survey projects as well.

What you will be doing:

• Performs field assignments for average to complex land surveying scopes of work including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography for various project types.
  1. Collects and processes field measurements and data for engineering and surveying projects.
  2. Operates survey instruments (i.e. Total Stations, Data Collector, levels and GPS equipment) and resolves operation issues.
  3. Performs construction staking.
• Researches existing survey and engineering records, interprets plans and correctly stakes surveying and engineering records.
• Responsible for organizing and transferring files between data collectors and internal project folders in a timely manner.
• Travels frequently to work site and other project related locations.
• Responsible for maintaining company vehicle and company equipment in a clean, professional manner.

What we are looking for:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or (3) three year's of relevant surveying experience.
• Good interpersonal written & verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.
• Good time management, organizational and problem solving skills.
• Good math skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Demonstrates ability to learn survey and engineering concepts.
• Developing knowledge of Trimble equipment and software. (Trimble Access & Trimble Business Center)
• Developing knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. (MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook)
• Developing knowledge and skills in CAD and survey software. (i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D, Microstation)
• Possess valid driver?s license.
