Survey Crew Chief / Lead Land Surveyor

CGA is seeking a skilled Survey Crew Chief to join our land survey division. As a Crew Chief, you will play a crucial role in leading a team of survey technicians in conducting precise and accurate land surveys. Your expertise in survey methodologies and equipment. software, and team management skills will be essential in ensuring the successful completion of various land survey projects.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of surveyor technicians in performing field surveys for a variety of land development and construction projects.
• Plan and organize daily survey activities, including route selection, equipment setup, and data collection methods.
• Conduct field surveys using surveying equipment, such as GPS, total stations, data collectors, and digital levels.
• Analyze survey data and prepare reports and maps using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Train and mentor Surveyor Technicians &/or Civil Engineering Technicians to improve their skills and knowledge.

• 3-6 years of experience in land surveying, including project management and leadership roles
• Experience with surveying software, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Trimble Business Center
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication (including written, verbal, and active listening) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel for fieldwork as required
