Orthopedic Surgery Scheduler/Front Desk for one surgeon.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as an Orthopedic Surgery Scheduler/Front Desk personnel for our newly established orthopedic solo practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient scheduling for orthopedic surgeries, coordinating appointments, and providing excellent customer service to our patients. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice and delivering high-quality care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Scheduling:
- Coordinate and schedule appointments for orthopedic surgeries, consultations, and follow-up visits.
- Manage surgical schedules efficiently, considering surgeon availability, operating room availability, and patient preferences.
- Communicate surgical dates, pre-operative instructions, and necessary preparations to patients in a clear and concise manner.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient information in scheduling systems and electronic medical records.
2. Front Desk Operations:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and address patient concerns promptly and courteously.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and collect necessary co-payments or payments for services rendered.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and waiting room.
3. Patient Communication:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patients scheduling surgeries, providing guidance, and answering questions regarding appointments, procedures, and insurance coverage.
- Coordinate with medical staff, surgeon, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication and continuity of care.
- Follow up with patients to confirm appointments, provide reminders, and address any changes or cancellations.
4. Administrative Support:
- Assist with medical record management
- Collaborate with billing and coding personnel to ensure accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Help with insurance verification and authorization processes for surgical procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual: Fluent in both English and Spanish
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in medical office administration or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably in orthopedics or surgery scheduling for at least 3 years***.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and insurance protocols.
- Familiarity with Worker's compensation and medicolegal
- Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic health records (EHR) systems and scheduling software - We will be using Intergy, Exscribe and Modernizing Medicine EHR
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and staff. Team Player.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
