Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgeries for 4 physicians and coordinate with patients, surgeons, and operating room staff
- Obtain necessary pre-operative clearances and authorizations from insurance companies
- Prepare and maintain surgical schedules, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Communicate with patients regarding surgery instructions, pre-operative requirements, and post-operative care
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of surgical procedures
- Manage medical records related to surgeries and ensure confidentiality is maintained
- Provide administrative support to the surgical team as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Surgery Scheduler or in a similar administrative role is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to surgery scheduling
- Familiarity with front desk operations, including phone systems and patient check-in/check-out processes
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with patients, surgeons, and staff members
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information
- Experience in an Orthopaedic office or medical administrative support role is a plus
