Surgery Coordinator

This includes all interactions with patients and their families; in person during the office visit, telephonically, and electronically. Interacts with hospital personnel via phone and electronically.

Surgical Coordinator is responsible for assisting the patient with all aspects of the surgery process in order to make the surgical experience as smooth as possible for the patient, surgeon, referring Doctor and Surgical facility.

Job Duties

• Schedule patients for surgical procedures (Office and Hospital)
• Instruct patients pre-operatively
• Obtain all medical clearances
• Schedule Post-operative visits
• Obtain surgical authorizations
• Build relationships with, and educate patients on various surgical procedures

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Familiar with insurances
• Insurance Authorizations

Professional Experience

• High school graduate or GED or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in a medical office.
• Experience in a clerical role preferred. Salary is dependent on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
