Welcome! At Micron Technology, Surface Lab Scientists demonstrate innovative surface analysis techniques to support technology development and high-volume manufacturing activities worldwide. We partner with development teams from around the world to understand the materials and processes required to build our industry leading technologies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or an Engineering field.
  • Demonstrated passion for scientific inquiry and tenacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Shift flexibility depending upon business needs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or an Engineering subject area.
  • Hands on experience with Surface Analysis techniques - including (but not limited to) X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray Reflectivity (XRR), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Auger Electron Spectroscopy AES), Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS), Electrical Characterization, Physical/Mechanical Characterization, Thermal Analysis, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Electron Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), and Electron Backscatter Diffraction Spectroscopy (EBSD).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Data Science, Statistics, and Project Management.
