As a Support Partner (DSP) you will be providing direct support in partnership with people with disabilities, on a one-to-one basis, in their own homes and communities. Services include that of community involvement and/or accommodation with activities of daily living including personal care, communication, transportation and recreation.
This job entails providing direct support to a man living in Delaware County. His interests include: PlayStation 5; Sporting games (football, basketball); theater, plays, shows, movies; TV shows (especially Broadway productions); music; puzzles, Perler beads, making clay figures; sports: football, basketball, soccer (playing and watching); going for walks; eating out periodically; going to the YMCA; swimming; Rose Tree Park Summer Concerts; miniature golf.
He requires assistance in the following areas: verbal prompting when in the home and community; proactive thinking, ability to project into next scenario; assistance with medication; assistance with maintaining a schedule in writing on a monthly basis; supporting with development of independent living skills; assisting with light housework and laundry; assisting with staying connected with family, friends, and community activities; assistance with maintaining routine; and assistance with technology.
SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday: 9AM -3PM
Qualifications:
● A high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year experience supporting people to live in the community
● Possession of a valid driver's license with a safe driving record
● Access to a reliable vehicle, proof of current vehicle registration, inspection, and insurance
● 18 years of age or older
● Be or willing to be Covid-19 Vaccinated prior to employment
