Mission:
It is the mission of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to impact and transform young lives, strengthen families, and support safer communities through targeted prevention and rehabilitation.
Job Purpose:
Under general supervision of the Program Manager I/Supply Manager II, will serve as the inventory manager for all supply aspects for the JDC warehouse, in addition to other areas that are responsible for the receiving, distribution, storage, and inventory of goods needed to operate efficiently. Will coordinate and implement the relocation of SCDJJ staff personnel and programs. Will also assist in managing the inventory for the Excess Property function as well as in Vehicle Management.
Job Responsibilities:
Receives goods and materials at Central Warehouse.
Unloads verify products and the amount of stored goods in a designated area.
Receives and processes requests for supplies and materials.
Processes orders, records issued quantities, and obtains authorized signatures for goods and materials issued or delivered.
Handle deliveries throughout SCDJJ for Central Warehouse. Supervision of SCDJJ inmate labor as assigned.
Lead and Coordinate agency moves and ensure that ongoing recycling and delivery services are updated as needed.
Provides tracking for all inventory and supplies to be able to analyze ordering, stocking, and distribution levels to ensure we are providing the best customer service possible while being able to provide that information when requested. To include but not limited to all JDC functions.
Ensures State fiscal and procurement compliance.
Will work with the Supply Manager II to ensure that all inventory and supplies are purchased, inventoried, and distributed in the most efficient manner possible.
Maintains records, and monitors compliance to avoid over/or inappropriate expenditures.
Ensures funds are debited from appropriate accounts through SCEIS MIGO transactions.
Manages individual expenditures against established limits for open purchase orders.
Other duties as required by management.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Requirements :
A high school diploma and at least three years of work experience directly related to supply management. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for work experience.
Additional Requirements:
Requires a working knowledge of supply practices and procedures.
Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures.
Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures applicable to property and inventory.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Must have knowledge of Windows Software, and South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS).
Must be able to work to meet deadlines.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed or on a consistent basis.
Must be forklift certified.
Must be able to work in an environment with incarcerated juveniles.
Must have a valid SC driver's license and be able to pass the Defensive Driver's training test.
This position performs job duties relating to the custody, control, transportation, or recapture of juveniles within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice. The employee may have direct and direct contact with juveniles within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Training applicable to these duties will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
A valid state-issued driver's license.
Two years of experience and general knowledge of warehouse supply and inventory control practices.
