Position Summary

 

This position is part of the Global Category Management organization reporting to the Sector Lead of the Production and Logistics Categories. The Category Individual Contributor (IC) will be responsible for strategy development, sourcing, contracting, and strategic supplier relationship management for the category spend based out of Minot, North Dakota. This position will primarily support the Hess Bakken assets including Chemicals, Gathering, Rail, Saltwater Disposal, and Condensate Hauling categories. This position will also support the Hess Marketing and Commercial team with oil sales logistics and other Hess assets and as needed. The position supports the company in meeting Hess' business objectives through strategic Category Management and effective business partnering with internal and external stakeholders.  Second paragraph to focus on the opportunity

The Category IC will work closely with and develop collaborative relationships with Business Partners and Asset Teams to optimize business solutions addressing priority business needs or issues. The Category IC will also conduct necessary analysis, devise and present appropriate approaches and solutions, and ensure the timely delivery of high quality service.  This position must demonstrate the capability of developing performance-based contracts that result in a win-win relationship with key suppliers.  He or she should understand how to utilize the digital oilfield to maximize recovery, eliminate non-productive time, and increase profitability through the design and deployment of integrated workflows.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate, with internal stakeholders,  develops an annual demand forecast and category plan
  • Develop and effectively execute category strategies and plans
  • Ensure that the Category Supply Chain strategy enables and compliments business & project-level strategies
  • Develop, review and amend category plans to account for regional factors including tax, legal, and local content
  • Build strong internal networks among stakeholders (Asset leads, Functional Leads, & Assets Supply Chain Teams)
  • Lead the 'end to end' sourcing process; market analysis, demand management, supplier qualification, procurement strategy development, negotiation, and contractor performance management for key contracts
  • Identify key contract and contractor risks and develop the associated mitigation strategies
  • Develop performance-based contracts that manage company risk
  • Structure deep supplier relationships that optimize safety, quality, delivery and cost for the Company and are mutually beneficial to the Supplier (Win-Win)
  • Ensure compliance with legislative regulations and corporate policies and procedures (Sarbanes-Oxley, FCPA, EHS, etc.).
  • Lead SRM engagements including content development

 

Qualifications

Experience

  • 7+ years Supply Chain experience, within an Upstream O&G company or within a service contractor for Upstream O&G clients, with an emphasis on sourcing and contracting in the designated Category
  • Must possess an undergraduate degree in Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering.  Master's in Business Administration or Engineering strongly preferred
  • Professional Supply Chain, Procurement Qualification, or LEAN Six Sigma certification, or desire to obtain, is a plus
  • Must demonstrate Leading at Hess behavioral competencies
  • Must demonstrate the ability to execute the roles and responsibilities of the position, as outlined, with minimal direct supervision

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree, in any discipline
