The Novelis North America (NNA) team is seeking a Metal Inputs Intern for Summer 2024. The Supply Chain Metal Analyst Intern will participate in the development of the monthly demand and supply balancing plan which optimizes the flow of metal through all manufacturing facilities.  They will develop and implement reporting and analysis to improve visibility and drive decision making across the North American business.  They will develop visual tools to communicate the monthly planning results.  They will learn the process for Metal Inputs, metal flow, and inventory positions and recommend process improvements.  Then develop documentation to reflect the process and design changes.  They will assist in the review and updating of team training and audit documentation.  This role reports directly to the Supply Chain Metal Planning Manager.

Responsibilities

• Develop and automate reports and tools that can be used to quickly and accurately assess Supply Chain issues and opportunities
• Provide data analysis and modeling to drive optimization and improvement of Metal Inputs including ingot, scrap, and prime
• Recommend business processes changes to continuously improve business performance relative to Metal Inputs, metal flow, and inventory levels and document the revised processes
• Review and update training and audit documentation
• Collaborate and build relationships with key stake holders in Supply Chain, operations, procurement, and recycling teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in process in areas of Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or similar subject area with exposure to Supply Chain management through course work and/or work experience
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to extract data, draw conclusions and make recommendations
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
• Problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
• Experience with Python, Power BI or a similar modeling software an asset
