Job Description:
As a Transportation Supply Chain Planner, this partner will assume responsibilities for establishing and maintaining operational relationships with our freight providers. This partner will also own the routing of freight, from the selection of the carrier, through tracking and delivery.
Developing and maintaining a good internal relationship with Customer Service, Distribution, and Supply Chain replenishment partners is essential.
This position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule located at our Home Office in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The hybrid work schedule is 2 days onsite at Home Office and the remainder from home.
What you'll do:
  • Manage the selection and evaluation of carriers to assure quality service and cost requirements are maintained.
  • Take ownership and optimize shipment weight, freight expenses, and accessorial charges to ensure Schreiber Foods' cost advantage.
  • Cultivate, grow, and maintain strong working relationships with counterparts at partner carriers.
  • Analyze volume trends, freight costs, and service trends. Recommend actions to improve quality of service and minimize cost.
  • Identify areas of process deficiency and make improvement recommendations that result in reduced waste, lower costs, and/or increased service levels.
  • Respond to special requests dealing with availability and timing of deliveries. Identify areas of process deficiency and seek resolution. Work with confidential freight rate information.
  • Provide continuous feedback and recommendations to the Transportation team to further optimize the TMS software.
  • Provide back-up coverage for TMS support as needed and potential coverage for additional Transportation positions.
  • May be required to provide periodic TMS testing and enhancement support as it pertains to the implementation of future systems and potential TMS upgrades. Required to develop comprehensive understanding of TMS.
  • Research and resolve all overage, shortage, and damage incidents, and customer complaints. Take corrective action to minimize these incidents.

What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Distribution, Logistics or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Transportation, Distribution, Logistics or related field.
  • Supply Chain and data analysis experience a plus.
  • Global Transportation and freight claims experience a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high initiative to execute daily functions while strategically driving process improvement.
  • High level of proficiency with standard PC software and strong data analysis background desired.
  • Prior experience with E2Open TMS (FKA BluJay) and FourKites Telematics software is preferred.
  • Attention to detail, as well as, a service orientation is required.
  • Internal partners: Minimum of 2 years of experience in current role preferred.
  • Must have a reliable internet connection (minimum 10 mb download speed) at home for remote and hybrid positions.
