Schedule
This position can be hybrid, or office-based in Nekoosa, WI. The typical working hours are flexible ranging from 6:30am-3pm to 8:30am-5pm, Monday through Friday.
In the initial 2-3 weeks of training, the role will be 100% onsite. After the training period is complete, the role will be eligible for a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities Include
The Planner is responsible for production scheduling and inventory management of work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods (FG). The Planner works closely with Sales and Operations on demand forecasting and machine capacity to provide and achieve alignment on crewing recommendations. This partnership enables optimized inventory levels and effective service to customers. This position requires maintaining strong cross-functional relationships. The ideal candidate will must be highly analytical with the urge to constantly identify leverage data to drive decisions.
  • Sales & Operations (S&OP)
    1. Lead monthly data collection and analysis for site S&OP review to achieve inventory and service metrics.
      • Works closely with Sales to ensure alignment on data-driven forecast.
      • Works closely with Operations to gather and ensure alignment on production machine rates and crewing availability.
      • Analyzes data to provide crewing recommendations based on forecast and demonstrated machine rates.
    2. Communicate metric and volume trends cross-functionally daily to ensure awareness.
  • Inventory Management
    1. Establish and achieve inventory targets on WIP and FG.
    2. Review inventory levels, as required, based on demand fluctuations.
    3. Achieve SLOB (slow moving and obsolete) inventory metric of <10% on WIP and FG.
    4. Lead SLOB review calls with Sales, Operations and Finance to move material in a timely manner, prevent scrapping of aged materials, and achieve SLOB targets.
    5. Develop and achieve Days on Hand (DOH) metric for assigned product lines.
    6. Identify and escalate all items that will produce 100+ DOH.
    7. Lead SKU rationalization projects for items with low average daily sales (ADS) and/or due to minimum production run quantities will result in having a high DOH inventory level.
    8. Implement and sustain production "Planning Wheel" to ensure operational and scheduling efficiency.
    9. Maintain "Planning Wheel" value by reviewing data periodically with Operations.
    10. Interact closely with procurement to ensure inventory is optimized based on forecast or WIP/FG levels.
  • Service
    1. Achieve site service level of 90% or greater.
    2. Within 24 hours, respond and update lead time inquiries on quotes and backorders.
    3. Work closely with Customer Service on order entry accuracy and to offer alternative products, when necessary.

Qualifications and Abilities Include
  • 2-5 years of experience in planning, Supply Chain or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and/or related courses of study, or equivalent experience.
  • S&OP Experience.
  • Exceptional analytic skills (including ability to identify trends and develop recommendations).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
