Summary:

Supply Chain Planning is responsible for reviewing material demand and issuing and managing vendor POs – from order creation to order close, as well as maintaining material master data, and tactical vendor relations. Supply Chain Planners work closely with other Supply Chain functions including Production Control in addition to cross functional departments and communicating throughout all levels of the organization. They are responsible for maintaining and controlling inventory and vendor on time delivery metrics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Using SAP to review MRP recommendations and demand needs to execute procurement planning with tactical order placement in a frozen time horizon
  • Maintain day-to-day relationship with vendors to collaborate on delivery schedules, understand root causes of supply issues/define corrective actions, and problem solve on how to avoid supply disruptions and customer delays
  • Communication of risks related to inventory and supply plans in terms of lead time and capacity constraints for purchased products
  • Analyze, calculate, recommend and maintain master data key planning parameters - including but not limited to material lead time, safety stock optimization, and planning strategies
  • Mitigate production shortages by monitoring stocking levels and aligning supply and demand requirements through order expediting and push out maintenance.
  • Maintain metrics/scorecards on KPIs including but not limited to: PO volume, confirmation status, on time delivery adherence, and overall inventory
  • Engage in cross functional collaboration with production planning, operations, purchasing, quality, engineering, warehouse, and customer sales representatives to communicate with appropriate stakeholders on risk situations, stock monitoring and engineering change/obsolesces

Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years of Supply Chain experience
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience with data analytics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP in a low volume, high mix manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of forecasting and inventory management methodologies
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and data analytics

Education/Certification/Training:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, or related field or 5+ Years of relevant work experience

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle or touch; frequently required to push and pull.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, peripheral, and the ability to focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a typical office environment; occasionally exposed to noise, dust, and chemicals. Occasional shop presence to observe assembly, mounting, testing and maintenance procedures.
  • Safety glasses/goggles must be worn at all times while in designated areas of shop.
